Growing layered hair?

you know that awkward time when your hair is growing, and its between long and short? yeah well my hair is really layered, and ive had it for a while, but right now, im really tired of it, and i just cant stand it anymore. What can i do to not make it look so horrible when its growing out?

Just keep trimming your hair as it grows and eventually your hair will level off as it grows new strands. And then when your hair is finally at your shoulders you can then cut off all the feathered ends of the leftover layers. If you go to a good hairdresser he or she will know what to do.

I use to have this problem when I was trying to grow my hair long again. It sure took forever for my hair to reach my shoulders. Then I got tired of that one too because the summer was so hot I went back to my layered hairstyle again. I would say I prefer my hair layered as I have naturally wavy hair which goes well with layers.

Good luck on your bad hair day;)

I would recommend: getting a haircut!

You should keep your layers, because of the mere reasons that:

(a). they're in style currently

(b). longer or shorter hair that is not layered has a tendency to look a little ratty and unkempt

(c). it's just more cute to keep your layers!

Maybe hair clips to hold up the sides. Just have your stylist cut the bottom only for a cut or two and see if it looks better. Might try a highlighter in streaks and see if that will perk you up.

get it thinned out, but keep the length.

you should go in every couple of months and get a little taken off at a time. be sure to tell the stylist that you are trying to get rid of the layers but don't want to just whack them all off. and yeah, layers start to look awful when you just let your hair grow out.

You can make all these lovely updo's (check out the link), a hairstyle that is really trendy at the moment. Even a simple ponytail, with bobby pins securing your shorter layers will look great.

(or you can just put on a hat or a scarf and pretend it's your thing for the next couple of months!)
