I want choppy layered hair...?

But then again I'm not very sure the cut would come out the way I expected it to be.

My hair is dark brown and straight, around 3 feet long. Do you reccomend it? I'd also love a few photos for examples matching my description.

I want choppy layered hair...?

Please don't have the eighties style cuts mentioned in one of the answers! :o)

(The outfits in those photos alone should show you how up to date they are)

I think that choppy layers really look good on straight hair - I'm totally jealous as mine is wavy so never quite looks blunt enough. As Aly says, highlights would look great with the cut but make sure you can afford to maintain that look as regrowth really shows on dark hair. Maybe some slim slices of blonde through the underneath / lower layers if you don't want to have to be a salon junkie.

I've been looking for photo's for my own cut and there's not a great range out there but the two sites I found to be the best are:

(some celeb pictures in there)

(huge range of styles from salons)

You have to sift through to find what you're looking for but there's plenty of choice. Good Luck!

It would more dramatic and choppy if it was highlighted!! Also maybe make it around slightly shorter than shoulder length? That in my eye is really cool

I want choppy layered hair...?

If you were a friend of mine, I'd highly go against this decision. I think choppy layered hair is so gross and so out of fashion right now. You say you have hair that is 3 feet long, so you're probably looking for a big change right? How about a cute semi-bob with a body wave? Like M.I.A.:

I think this hairstyle is so chic and so easy to take care of, which makes it great for someone with a busy lifestly. The body waves add an interesting dimension for such short hair and give it a natural unruly and messy look, if that's the kind of thing you like. I also think that this style looks good on everyone.

But if you want something more clean cut, how about this:

this cut looks really versatile with the bangs, and you say you have straight hair...is it naturally straight? If so, I think you can easily pull this off.

OR if you think you can handle it...Try something edgy like agyness deyn:

It's so boyish and if you have a feminine face, I think this is PERFECT!

But honestly, I think natural relaxed hair is the best:

Before you do anything drastic, PLEASE ask the opinions of others who know you, but go with your own instincts and personal tastes.
