Long layered hair??

I have long layered hair. May hair goes about 2 inch below my bra strap. Currently my layers are rather long. I was thinking about shortening my layers so they start about 1 inch below where my shoulder starts. Too short, to long??

What can I do to get the ends of my layers wavy/curly?? I don't have a lot of time in the morning. Also my hair is very straight and fine so curls never seem to hold long. Any help??

Long layered hair??

Where to start the layers is really personal preference. If you sometimes like to wear it in a ponytail, I wouldn't go any higher than your shoulders or you'll end up with lots of loose hair up front. As for the wavy/curly idea - only way to get straight fine hair to hold curl is a body perm (NOT A SPIRAL). Mostly would just add body and help your hair hold curl. How your hair looks for the day would depend on how you fix it. If you blow dry it straight, it would have much more body then normal (and you could curl the ends up or under using a round brush). If you want it curly, would have to use a curling iron after its dry. There is no way you'll ever be able to just wake up and do nothing to your hair and it still look good, but this way you have options. Quick and easy to just wash and dry (which you can do the night before as others have mentioned) or can spend more time to curl and look special that day. Fine hair gets limp with just a little bit of oil, so some people really can't get away with washing the night before. Remember, any curl shortens hair, even a body perm.

I'd say start the layers at chin length and have them work their way down. Also, have you thought about showering and styling your hair before bed at night? Some people are grossed out by this, but if you don't mind not being 100% fresh in the morning, it works. All you'd need to do is curl your ends right before bed and put your hair into a loose pony tail at the base of your head. When you wake up, all you need to do is spray the curls with hair spray and then do a touch-up curling of the spirals. Good luck!

I had a friend who was in beauty school, and I asked one day "I am sure that people with mullets dont sit down in the chair and say "give me a mullet," so what do they say?

She said that they usually ask for a "Long Layered cut"

so, I guess you should watch out if you use that term at the salon... they might give you a mullet.

if you don't have alot of time in the morn don't worrie about curls get this shampoo wash n curl so when youy wanna have curly hair during the night life than Use the shampoo as directed than get that curling iron out and go to town you hair will hold. As for the layers if you get medium and long layers that would be super cute but if you get short layers than you might as well cut your hair short.

I think if you have your hair cut with layers starting from your shoulders it will look great. I love that look! I've found that layers definitely helps to enhance any natural wave and add volume too.

You could try using heated rollers and rolling your hair up in them at night when it's damp. In the morning you can easily undo the rollers, add a little serum to get rid of any frizz and spritz on some hairspray. Loreal Elnett firm hold is great but if you don't like that they test on animals, try Redken instead. It's more expensive but is amazing stuff. If they both fail, make your own hairspray with lemons, water and vodka. Good luck!
