What could i do with my layered hair?

I have medium length hair which is really layered. I can't do much with it because my hair's just a little too short and the layers sometimes stick out in the odd place.

Got any ideas of what styles i could do my hair in for casual outgoings?

Mine is the same way. I pull it back in a half-pony, only I just pull back a strip of hair about an inch wide from right in the middle, pull it back and clip it with some cute little clip. Sometimes I do little pigtails. With longer hair, it looks childish, but with hair like ours it just looks cute! But do the pigtails right below the ears, not above. We're not Pippi Longstocking!

Also, just wearing it down, your hair can look entirely different depending on what's in it. Cute little clips, or a hat! I have a black hat with a rhinestone skull on the side. It's not like a baseball cap or anything, it's more femenine. I wear it slightly sideways with the bill down over one eye (but not far enough to impair my vision) and it covrs bad hair days so easily! And looks good with almost anything!!

This might look ok,

get the top layer of your hair and tie it up so you have a top pony, and leave the rest down.by the way i wish i had hair the way you dicribed it.

Make two teensy weensy low pigtails and the layered parts that dont fit in, just leave hanging. So cute! Or take the front part, twist it, and bobypin it to the top of your scalp. Or make it really curly or use a flat iron and make it all straight but the bottom flips in or out. Good Luck!

I kinda have that problem too...but i love doing ponytails with a side fringe for a casual look. All the short pieces of hair can be controleld by bobby pins but i also love having them drape out so it doesnt look as sleek and posh. A side fringe will defnitely help adding the 'just got out of bed' ponytail

Get a small rounded brush with boar bristles. Use your blow drier and dry your hair after you get out of the shower. Take the brush and turn it the way that you want your hair to go and make sure your hair gets completely dry.

If you do this you can flip your hair up or turn it under and you won't have the odd fly-aways.

It also keeps you from having to use a straightening iron or hair spray.

If you do it properly you can go the whole day with your hair staying where you blow dried it to.

You'll probably need the 1/2 inch to 1 inch rounded brush.

Hi hun,

Layered hair styles can be difficult to care for because as layers grow out, the style becomes more ragged. Medium layered hair styles are generally good for as long as eight weeks without a trim, but the greater number of layers you use, the more frequently you may want to get a quick trim to keep the style looking great. Using conditioner regularly can help keep the different layers manageable and will also help prevent split ends and other unsightly damage. When styling medium layers, use a small amount of volumizing product to separate layers and add more distinction to the style, and a small amount of spray may be necessary to keep each layer in its place. Take care not to style your hair too heavily, however: very stiff layers are obvious and less attractive than the natural flip and flow of hair.

The greatest asset of a medium length layered style is its versatility. While it鈥檚 short enough for many different looks and swift care, it鈥檚 still long enough to be twisted into elegant updos and other formal styles. Medium styles can easily be jazzed up with a variety of accessories, or for a more permanent detail, add highlights or colored tips to accentuate different layers.

Unfortunately, despite their wide range of possibilities and styles, medium layered hair styles are also one of the most difficult to change after they鈥檝e been cut. Unless you are willing to let the layers grow out for a long time, it may be necessary to switch to very short styles if you decide layers aren鈥檛 for you. Adding hair extensions is another option to help layers grow out 鈥?the extensions will disguise the different lengths in the style while they have a chance to even out.

Hope that helps hun.
