I think you need layered hair to do it but I'm not sure. How should I go about layering it though? Like on the sides? And how much? I don't know much about layering.

And please don't suggest taking a picture to the salon, I would rather not do that. And now that I said that I have a feeling you'll suggest it anyway just to be annoying so please don't it.
